Elizabeth Mirzaei is an award-winning director and cinematographer. Elizabeth lived in Afghanistan for many years where she directed and filmed documentaries for Al Jazeera English, the BBC, Discovery and numerous nonprofits. Her first feature film, LAILA AT THE BRIDGE, was supported by the Gucci-Tribeca Documentary Fund and the Bertha Foundation among others. The film has screened at more than a dozen festivals including Locarno, CPH:DOX and Hot Docs and picked up multiple awards, most recently Best Social Justice Documentary at Santa Barbara International Film Festival. She lives in Los Angeles with her husband Gulistan and daughter Maryam.
